Prior to transitioning into leadership development in 2008, Vinay co-led a family business where he grew revenue 28-fold, doubled the rate of profitability, and dramatically increased client and staff loyalty and retention. He also worked in the Fortune 50 and public sectors, and has coached executives from Amazon, Boeing, Medtronic, Booz Allen Hamilton, GAF, REI Systems, the Federal Reserve System, Farragut Corporation, Valley Health, Mercy Hospital, the U.S. Secret Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.
Vinay is the co-author (with Chalmers Brothers) of Language and the Pursuit of Leadership Excellence: How Extraordinary Leaders Build Relationships, Shape Culture and Drive Breakthrough Results, and the author of Customers, Love ‘Em or Lose ‘Em: 57 Ways to Love Your Customers.
Vinay serves as an adjunct faculty member in George Washington University’s leadership coaching program, and faculty at Full-Circle Group, training coaches in the use of Leadership Circle’s suite of tools. He’s also an executive coach for American University’s Key Executive Leadership Program, and he’s a frequent CEO forums speaker through his association with Vistage.
Having worked with over 1,000 leaders through executive coaching or group learning programs in the U.S. and overseas, Vinay focuses on helping leaders and potential leaders improve self-awareness and self-management; strengthen self-confidence, courage, collaboration and communication; and assess and increase their individual and collective leadership effectiveness. His clients often come from technical backgrounds such as engineering, IT, software development, medicine, law enforcement and finance.
Vinay’s coaching style is compassionate, direct and results-oriented, while also creating and holding space for self-reflection. He’s adept at leveraging his extensive business experience to understand the challenges executive clients face in today’s business environment.
