Michelle brings 30 years of business and leadership experience in partnering with clients to reach their strategic business goals and realize greater overall satisfaction and productivity. She is an organizational consultant, leadership coach and facilitator.

Education

Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in business management from Old Dominion University.

    Experience

    Michelle began her career with Eastman Kodak Company where she served for 17 years in a number of management and sales positions, successfully affecting business strategy, managing sales growth, developing employees and providing leadership during complex corporate change. She then served for five years as an independent mediator and equal employment opportunity investigator for clients, including the departments of Homeland Security, Interior, Education and FEMA.

    Expertise

    As a leadership coach, Michelle collaborates with clients to identify their priorities, clarify choices, leverage their strengths, build new competencies and take actions that provide greater fulfillment in their lives and vocations. Clients include executive leaders, mid-level management and emerging leaders.

    As an organizational consultant, Michelle partners with leadership to assess organizational culture, systems and approaches, and to develop new strategies and behaviors that result in improved performance, morale, organizational effectiveness and agility. Her love of sociology and group dynamics, and her experience as a mediator for federal workplace disputes mean she’s comfortable, steady and collaborative in challenging environments. Michelle supports IOCI clients with strategic planning, organizational assessment, team and conflict coaching, and organization-wide coaching programs.

    Michelle is a highly skilled and experienced facilitator and trainer. Her positive energy, combined with her mediation and coaching skills, help her create a collaborative, focused and productive working atmosphere. As a facilitator, she coordinates with stakeholders of ad hoc workgroups, leadership teams and executive boards to identify their current state and desired outcomes; designs and facilitates workshops and retreats ensuring the desired business results; and, when appropriate, incorporates experiential learning into workshops to help participants improve their individual and collective performances.
